Spring 2023
Hi CBA Blog fans!
It’s Boomer, your favorite old shop dog here, checking in from Cougar Bowl HQ.
The sun is shining, the hoodies are piling up, and someone keeps forgetting to refill my water bowl. Spring has sprung, and you wouldn’t believe how much has changed since the winter holidays down here in the basement. It now feels less like a basement and more like a full-blown apparel business.
For starters, we’ve upgraded our platform to InkSoft. We also brought in our first 15-needle embroidery machine. That thing is loud, fast, and shiny, and honestly, it looks like a robot octopus came to life. I avoid it at all costs.
Because Cougar Bowl is growing like a puppy on protein powder, we had to rearrange the whole shop. Machines moved, tables shifted, and my nap spot was completely disrupted. Thanks a lot. But I’ve found a new hiding place near the warmest machine and near Melissa who gives me treats, and it’s not bad.
We also hired two new Palmyra high school employees, Alyssa and Liv. They’re fast, friendly, and not afraid of hot presses or loud machines. Plus, they both smell like vanilla lotion and iced coffee, which beats the usual scent of burning hot press. The girls are constantly leaving their items behind, and sometimes stealing hoodies or sweat pants to keep warm because it is so cold in the CBA basement where it stays a cool 62 degrees all year round.
Cougar Bowl Apparel business is booming with all things Palmyra. Cougar Bowl Apparel continues to partner with local school teams and clubs. This season, we added PHS Boys Lacrosse, Bocce, Baseball, and Tennis to our roster. Don’t ask me the rules of any of those. I’m just here for the team snacks.
On the youth side of things, we’ve been working with Palmyra Youth Basketball and Palmyra Youth Wrestling. Lots of small jerseys and parent customizations. Sports moms love to get their kid’s names and numbers on their hoodies or t-shirts.
We’ve also teamed up with community organizations like Noah’s Little Ark and Palmyra Black Knights, plus a special project with the Army Aviation Blackhawk Helicopter group. You read that right. From glitter tees to helicopter patches, this shop really does it all.
Let’s just say our paws have stayed busy giving back. Whether it’s donating custom gear or supporting a fundraiser, Cougar Bowl Apparel continues to use its growing reach for good. And while I may not stitch or print, I do supervise with award-winning side-eye.
I feel like a busy summer break is upon us especially with Ben’s graduation from high school and Jack return home for the summer. But preparing for the return to school both for J&B plus all the fall sports teams will be a lot.
Woof-You-Later,
Boomer 🐾
