Happy New Year, my fellow canines!
My name is Boomer Bell. I am a 13-year-old miniature schnauzer and Finnish Spitz mix. And wow, a lot is happening in the Bell Basement as we just celebrated the 2nd New Year at 25 Heather Lane. Since Jack left for college in August, I’ve noticed my owner, Chad, needed to stay busier. I think that was the motivation for starting a small apparel business in our basement, maybe to earn some extra money to pay those big college bills.
One day, I saw a small hot metal contraption, which I later found out was a press for decorating clothing and other materials. He would stand at that thing for hours. I would lie at his feet for a cozy nap.
Chad has always loved giving unique and sometimes unorthodox names like Cheddar Bob for our stray cat. Ask him about his dog name list on his phone sometime. When it came to naming our new business, he chose a family favorite meal they make for the boys based on a PASD cafeteria special, Cougar Bowl. If you aren’t familiar with what a Cougar Bowl is, it’s similar to the KFC Famous Bowl. The Cougar Bowl has similar ingredients: creamy mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet corn, popcorn chicken, and shredded cheese. Delicious! It makes my Blue Buffalo look like dog food.
I digress, so Cougar Bowl Apparel started from an empty nester needing a creative outlet, using just one press and a dream. With no idea what would happen, Chad began transforming our dark basement, once meant for video games, football, and sleepovers, into a small apparel business. We don’t know what the future holds, but we’re giving this a try.
I’ve got to go now; I smell sauerkraut cooking, and if I look adorable enough, I might get a piece of pork for good luck we need for this year. Wish us luck, and I’ll keep you updated on how CBA goes. Either way, I get to hang out more in the basement with my best friend.
Here’s to a paw-sitively productive new year,
Boomer 🐾
